Jacii De'Avery Brown was born June 9, 2009 along with his twin sister Ja'Naiya Skii Brown. Jacii, the youngest, was very outgoing, loving, caring, ambitious, and loved to dance and play sports.
At the young age of 3, Jacii was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Shocked by the news, Jacii became very strong and independent. Knowing he was ill motivated Jacii to begin helping others more and sharing his love with those around. He always kept a smile on his face despite of the tragedy he was going through.
Two years later in January 2015, Jacii was admitted to the hospital for a high grade fever without a diagnosis. A few days later Jacii was diagnosed with Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). Getting the news not only broke our family apart but also gave us a hint that Jacii would be departing the earth sooner than expected.
February 16, 2015 we stood along side Jacii's bed in the ICU and watched one of Jacii's favorite movies as he took his last breath.
Our mission for the foundation is to raise awareness for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). We also are here to support the families of children who face this unwelcomed battle.
